Major General Ali Shahbazi (Persian: سرلشکر علی شهبازی) is the former commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army.[1][2] He was the first commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army, as before his appointment to this post, the post of commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army didn't exist. He was succeeded by major general Mohammad Salimi. Before creation of this new military post, he was the joint chief of staff of the Iranian Army.
